PLASTIC IMPREGNATED The herringbone construction in this type of wire tendon creates larger voids between the strands, which enable deep impregnation of polypropylene, locking the cover and preventing stripping. It also reduces capillary action of water entering the wire tendon if damage to the covering penetrates through to the steel wires. Most utility systems use plastic impregnated wire tendon. For non-standard applications galvanised or stainless steel wire tendons are also available.
