The soft eye is standard on wire tendon sizes up to and including 4mm Ø with the introduction of a thimble on wire tendons 6mm Ø and above. The thimble is used to evenly distribute pressure and prevent wire tendon damage at high loads.

An aluminium ferrule with galvanised/ plastic impregnated wire tendon and thimble, and a copper ferrule with stainless steel wire tendon and thimble are available for a wide range of wire tendon sizes.

Once the earth anchor system has been loadlocked, the wire tendon is then passed over a higher scaffold ledger. It is then lowered in line with the bottom ledger. The bottom ledger is then placed through the scaffold eye and is loosely secured at this stage. Any excess slack is removed by applying a downward force on the bottom ledger. The bottom ledger is then secured tightly.

It is compatible with 4mm Ø stainless steel wire tendon and forms part of an earth anchor system used to secure revetment blocks and geotextile mats.

WEDGE GRIPS
A wedge grip is the most common method of top termination used in engineering applications. Consisting of a conically bored steel barrel and serrated wedges held together with an 'O' ring.

Available in galvanised steel to suit 6mm, 8mm, 12mm and 16mm Ø wire tendon and in stainless steel to suit 6mm, 8mm and 12mm Ø wire tendon. It also has the option of a black PVC cover to reduce the possibility of injury from exposed wires and offer additional corrosion protection to the wedge grip.

It is available in stainless steel and is compatible with 6mm, 8mm and 12mm Ø stainless steel wire tendon. A stainless steel cap is also available, giving a clean aesthetic and tamper proof finish to the earth anchor system.

A standard set consists of three rope grips and can be used with 4mm, 6mm, 8mm, 12mm and 16mm Ø galvanised steel and stainless steel round strand wire tendon.

GEOTEXTILE TERMINATIONS
This type of top termination is used to secure polyethylene load plates in lightweight geotextile applications.

The termination comes pre-assembled as part of the anchor system and consists of a stainless steel washer and aluminium alloy ferrule. Once the earth anchor system has been loadlocked, the aluminium ferrule is pushed against the load plate and swaged to hold the geotextile in position. This type of termination is only suitable with the S2 anchor and 3mm wire tendon. Larger anchors are available and use the conical wedge as a top termination.
